Dora the Explorer World Adventure workaround

My daughter was heartbroken when we bought this cheap and it didn't work under IE7, so with a little investigation I came up with this workaround rather than 'downgrade to IE6' as Activision recommend.

Download the 'standalone' IE6 from http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/32bit/standalone

Uncompress it into C:\Program Files\Activision Value\Dora World Adventure

Then bring up a command prompt (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories under Windows XP) and type

cd "C:\Program Files\Activision Value\Dora World Adventure"
copy IEXPLORE.EXE.local DoraAdventure.exe.local
exit

And voila, it should just work. I'd expect this would work for any of your games that rely on IE6 for their presentation engine

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My daughter and I were *both* heartbroken when this game crapped out on us. This fix was quick, easy, and worked perfectly.

Shame on Activision for such poor support for their games.

Thanks, for that one. I've been searching for a solution for this since last Christmas. My four year old daughter has been asking me every since we got this game if it would ever work.

She has played this almost non-stop all day today.

Hard to believe that Activision couldn't release this as a patch insead of copping out and saying you have to remove IE7.
